What to Expect From Your First Visit at Marina Tooth Fairy Dental

To ensure success in our procedures, we take the necessary time to fully & thoroughly evaluate your present dental condition. Our goal is to give our clients the necessary information & education so that they may enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile for years to come. Here is what you should expect:
As a new patient, when you arrive, we will escort you to your treatment room where one of our team members will help you fill out the necessary paperwork. We continue with a one-on-one discussion covering your past dental history & present concerns. A treatment coordinator will come & take digital photographs, which are used for computerized imaging, & guide you through the rest of the process. Once everything is complete, Dr. Benjamin will complete a full comprehensive exam, which will include:
- A chart of all your teeth & the restorations presently in place, & not any restorative recommendations
- A complete cavity check, tooth-by-tooth
- Oral cancer screening—screening intra-orally, checking the tongue, cheeks & surrounding soft tissues
- A thorough evaluation of your bite
- A smile evaluation
- Dental x-rays—digital radiography which uses 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays
- Diagnostic molds, if necessary
Some patients choose to combine their initial visit with their hygienic cleaning. Our hygienists pride themselves on the highest level of skill, education & experience they bring to every patient. Between their extensive post-graduate training & their knowledge of advanced technology, they provide the latest techniques for comfortable dental hygiene. During your hygiene appointment, not only will we clean your teeth, but we will also perform a full-mouth periodontal probing to determine if you have any signs of gum disease.
After we have provided a complete examination & hygienic cleaning & presented you with your treatment plan, we can work with you to get started on a treatment, which is most important for you. Whether it is cosmetic or restorative work, we are here to work with you in getting a healthy, beautiful smile that you are proud to show others.
Although most patients do come to us for general dental procedures including hygienic cleanings, fillings & cosmetic work, we practice dentistry with the aesthetics of the final result in mind. We place special emphasis on making you look & feel great.
Our hygiene, restorative & cosmetic fees are comparable to those at premier cosmetic dental boutiques nationally & in the Bay Area.
